OVERVIEW

The individual in this position works to achieve maximum profitable sales volume within all the Italy products.  This individual will work closely with the Italy Product Director and assist the operations team to achieve the established goals for the product and support the team on all the day-to-day matters.

The employee will work with the Product Director to create product within the required specifications and profitability goals.  In addition, will work to build extended relationships with vendors and internal teams in order to achieve optimum relationships.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Develop Product and along with Italy Product Director present to President for approval.
  • Accompany Italy Product Director on business trips in order to develop vendor relationships w/ suppliers.
  • Negotiate and establish contracts and space (as needed) with suppliers. 
  • Submit pricing information to Operations Manager for completion of pricing sheets for all products created.
  • Perform market Analysis to assure our prices are competitive, and/or our product unique.
  • Submit product and detailed itinerary information to:
    • Brochure production
    • Operations
    • Accounting
    • Copywriter for Day by Day/Pitch sheet documents.
  • Review brochure copy, website, reservation system, and Day by Day/Pitch sheets for quality control.
  • Conduct Product briefings for staff on new programs as needed.  In addition, negotiate w/ hotels and airlines for annual allotments for employee FAM trips.
  • Assist the Operations Manager in obtaining additional allotments as needed and resolving major problems due to variety of circumstances.
  • Review member feedback and implement changes to product as necessary.
  • Work with the Italy Product Director to channel Italy product within our other divisions.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION AND KNOWLEDGE

  • At least 5 to 10 years of product development experience and familiarity with hotel operations in Italy.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in travel operations in the country of Italy.
  • Excellent communication skills (English & Italian) and ability to interact effectively in order to negotiate contracts and costs with vendors.
  • Superior negotiation skills required in order to effectively work with vendors to obtain the agreed upon product price.
  • Ability to speak, write, and read Italian fluently.
  • Ability to travel 30% of the time to any destination as necessary.
  • Strong pc skills, including the ability to learn new programs as necessary.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment.

PREFERENCES

It is a preference for Candidate to have a Green Card or be a Dual Citizen (Italy & USA); if Candidate is currently located in Italy without GC or Citizenship, Company will entertain sponsorship for the Candidate to work within the USA. Candidates will reside in NYC (the boro’s); NJ (Northern); Westchester; Rockland; or lower CT. Will travel to Italy for Product Meetings several times per year.

Eight (8) hours or more a day of sitting; walking; standing; bending; answering the telephone; entering data into the computer; retrieving data from the computer or analyzing data from reports.
This position may require overnight travel up to 30% (including travel by car and by airplane).
Must have a valid driver's license and willingness to fly on an airplane.
