This company is a new travel company concept (backed by a well-known travel conglomerate who has been associated in the Travel Industry for over 20 years) dedicated to providing affordable vacations to consumers with a passion for travel. It is also the parent brand for several other travel brands, the largest of which services over 500,000 travelers.
OVERVIEW
The Vice President of Destinations is accountable for the overall development, negotiation and performance of all itineraries that make up the portfolio of travel. This position will oversee 3 to 4 Managers/Directors who have direct responsibility other segments under the Umbrella Organization.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Product performance
- Performance of Other Divisions Tour brands
- Lead and manage product development team
- Track performance of all itineraries for the purposes of evaluating margin elasticity
- Track competitive landscape
- Manage travel vendors and develop supplier relations strategy
- Work along side of Product Directors to build and manage securing co-op funding from vendors for all the company entities.
- Develop and manage employee FAM and mystery shopping program across all areas
- Create value added offers for consumers to be promoted via print, eBlasts and website
QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years developing worldwide travel programs within a tour operator model
- Strategic ability to effectively work with a high level product team
- Strong familiarity with European travel products and Cruises
- Expertise in pricing foreign tour products
- Familiarity with co-op funding development
- Strong familiarity with consumer and trade travel sales
- Highly skilled in tracking financial performance of various travel products
- Technical skill proficiency in Microsoft Excel including advanced functions, required
- Technical skill proficiency in Microsoft Word and PowerPoint for presentations, required
- Experience in building a membership organization, preferred
- Strong oral and written presentation skills
REPORTING
Reports directly to COO. Will be a Member of the Executive Committee and a Company Officer.

EDUCATION
The preferred candidate will hold a Bachelor's Degree (BA or BS) from a four year College or University; or 7 to 10 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent of education and experience in the travel industry business.

• Eight (8) hours or more a day of sitting; walking; standing; bending; answering the telephone; entering data into the computer; retrieving data from the computer or analyzing data from reports.
• This position may require overnight travel up to 30% (including travel by car and by airplane).
• Must have a valid driver's license and willingness to fly on an airplane.
