This company is a diversified travel company, in the Travel Industry for over 30 years.

OVERVIEW

The VP Sales is a NEW Position. Company's growth has been attributed to an excellent client base and recommendations. VP Sales will be involved in diverse sales targets, to include: Travel Agencies, Groups, and Corporate.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Direct Sales on a National Basis, and Locally.
  • Work also as an Account Manager to insure maintenance of accounts.
  • Budget planning and execution.
  • Ability to direct a small staff of internal sales and operations personnel.
  • Responding to RFP's.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years proven sales track record (individually)
  • Strategic ability to effectively work with high-level team members
  • Strong familiarity with current Tour Products (preferably Outbound)
  • Expertise in sales, sales planning/forecasting & development
  • Must have a proven closer record and provide verifiable statistics
  • Strong familiarity with consumer and trade travel sales
  • Strong oral and written presentation skills
  • Ability to develop Budgets.


REPORTING

Reports directly to COO, with dotted line to the Chairman. Will be a Member of the Executive Committee.

EDUCATION

The preferred candidate will hold a Bachelor's Degree (BA or BS) from a four year College or University; or 15+ years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent of education and experience in the travel industry business.

While performing this job, it will require:

  • Eight (8) hours or more a day of sitting; walking; standing; bending; answering the telephone; entering data into the computer; retrieving data from the computer or analyzing data from reports.
  • This position may require overnight travel up to 40% (including travel by car and by airplane).
  • Must have a valid driver's license and willingness to fly on an airplane.
