OVERVIEW

Travel Department of a medium size Corporation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In charge of all Travel for the Company Headquarters as well as branches located throughout North America. Will supervise staff of 10 travel counselors and 2 support personnel and one assistant. Will also deal with current travel agency under contract for an additional 8-12 months.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Corporate travel experience preferably with a corporation in their travel department or working in management of an on-site. (Travel Agency experience alone will not allow you to qualify for this opening.
  • CRS/GDS knowledge.
  • Negotiations experience for hi-level contracts.
  • Minimum of 10 years experience, 5 years in a corporate travel management role
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
  • Skill in math, attention to detail, strong PC skills.
  • Organized and analytical.
  • Willingness to follow procedures.
  • High degree of honesty, and integrity.
  • Travel Industry experience.

REPORTING

Report to the SVP Purchasing.

EDUCATION

The preferred candidate will hold a BA or a BS in Business from a four year College or University.

  • Eight (8) hours or more a day of sitting; walking; standing; bending; answering the telephone; entering data into the computer; retrieving data from the computer or analyzing data from reports.
  • This position may require overnight travel up to 50% (including travel by car and by airplane).
  • Must have a valid driver's license and willingness to fly on commercial airplanes and private corporate aircraft.
