OVERVIEW

Responsible for all management of company operations. Provide leadership and coordination in the administrative, business planning, operation, and budgeting efforts of the company.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Day to day running of a diversified Travel Management Company. This company has been in business for 20 years, but will be new to the Albuquerque area. The full relocation will be a permanent one and take place shortly. Gross Sales Corporate Volume is over $80Million. Leisure business will have to be developed locally. Company's Owner and 6 people relocating, all others will be engaged from local talent.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have 10+ Years (preferably not more than 15) in Management role of a Travel Company. Preference is with a diverse agency environment. Leisure, Corporate, & Groups.
  • Experience in strategic planning and execution. Knowledge of contracting and negotiating with suppliers. RFP knowledge.
  • Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate staff.
  • Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule.

REPORTING

Report to the Owner.

  • Strong interpersonal skills, executive presence and relate well with all levels of employees as well as external clients/vendors/and important business contacts.

  • Ability to establish credibility and be decisive with ability to recognize and support the organization's preferences and priorities.
  • Results and profit-oriented with the ability to balance other business considerations.

EDUCATION

The preferred candidate will hold a BA or a BS in Business from a four year College or University. Company will accept non-degreed candidates as long as their travel industry background exceeds minimum requirements.

While performing this job, it will require:

  • Eight (8) hours or more a day of sitting; walking; standing; bending; answering the telephone; entering data into the computer; retrieving data from the computer or analyzing data from reports.
  • This position may require overnight travel up to 40% (including travel by car and by airplane).
  • Must have a valid driver's license and willingness to fly on commercial airplanes and private corporate aircraft.
